Founded in 1959, LaSalle College is a Canadian private post-secondary educational institution specializing in vocational and pre-university programs. Their programs bridge college level education and the various outlets, be it the industry, organizations or university. Located downtown Montreal, LaSalle College is the largest bilingual college in North America.
LaSalle College offers over 60 programs to choose from, taught mostly by teachers who are professionals in their respective field. All programs are designed by industry experts and a strong emphasis is placed on gaining professional experience before graduating. Most programs have an integrated internship that is required to graduate. Students can also take part in work-study programs that allows them to experience a paid internship during the summer months.
The College counts over 17 000 students spread across nine countries and 23 campuses. This international presence has gained recognition around the world. The Montreal campus alone receives students from over 90 different countries.
The College proposes 3 types of diplomas, recognized by the Ministre de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur (MEES):
A diploma of college studies (DEC) can either give a student access to university or the job market. An attestation of college studies (AEC) serves to reorient one’s career or quickly acquire a skill set applicable in the job market. A diploma of professional studies is a high school level diploma that prepares students for direct employment.
LaSalle College has six schools under one banner. Each school specializes in their respective industries, on top of offering general education courses (literature, philosophy, physical education, a second language and complementary courses).
While studying, students can also take part in a work-study program (ATE) that gives a chance for them to do paid internships during summer months.
LaSalle College offers a complete range of services with no extra charge that help students achieve academic success. Here’s a list to name a few:
