It is with honour and immeasurable pride that LaSalle College Montréal joins the prestigious ranks of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI). This news follows the announcement of the signing of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Agreement revealed at the beginning of the month.
The United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) is an initiative that aligns higher education institutions with the United Nations to support and contribute to the achievement of the UN's goals and mandates, including the promotion and protection of human rights, access to education, sustainability, and conflict resolution. To be part of these prestigious ranks, member institutions must actively demonstrate their support for at least one of the UNAI principles each year.
By joining this prestigious community of educational institutions, LaSalle College opens a range of opportunities for its students. They will benefit from access to a variety of resources, international partnerships, and practical experiences, thereby enriching their academic journey and preparing them to become global citizens.
LaSalle College is now part of a global network, boasting over 1600 higher education institutions across more than 150 countries, dedicated to advancing crucial causes, which are part of the College's core values. Indeed, awareness of the cultural, social, and economic diversity of the contemporary world, as well as our concerns for sustainable development, respect for the environment, ethics, and healthy lifestyles are all topics at the heart of our concerns, making global citizenship one of our four fundamental values.
This achievement was made possible thanks to the initiative of Osman Kaplan, a Business Management teacher, with the unwavering support of the College's President and CEO, Mr. Claude Marchand. LaSalle College is thrilled to embark on this journey with the UNAI and looks forward to empowering its students to make a positive contribution on the global stage.
